We’re so caught up with other people we forget to consider ourselves. Not selfishly, not arrogantly, not with all the pride or all the lack of what we try to see in ourselves. I’m just part of this mob mentality where racism has no face but a lingering presence, inadequacy is not a trait but an encompassing entity, and success is always someone else’s. Today, I just want to look at myself and accept that I have all these things. I’m not saying I’m proud but at least I’m owning up to it.
